inspiration part 1

I get inspired by so many different things; photos, quotes, novels, lyrics, people, places. I thought I would a couple of posts on things that inspire me, maybe you will read it and be thinking 'I don't see why this is inspiring..' and I totally get that, everyone is different, right? But I thought I would share anyway. I have started with celebrities, this is something that always changes, reading interviews can change opinions about celebrities so easily, and I find celebrities extremely inspiring with things such as fashion, which changes a lot, too. But these are my current inspirations and some of them have always inspired me (such as the Olsens and Reese Witherspoon) and maybe always will.
I will do more posts, which will have quotes, photos, lyrics.. anything that has is inspiring me or has inspired me, so yep there is more to come.
Celebrity Inspiration
I find these three women extremely inspiration because of the people they are. They are all strong, beautiful, successful, independent women and it amazes me at how grounded they all seem. For example, recently I read in an interview that on date nights Christina Aguilera and her husband play board games and it shocked me, I never expected a celebrity to be that normal, especially one as successful as Christina Aguilera.. Angelina Jolie has given A LOT of money to charities along with husband Brad Pitt, and has adopted children from suffering countries. Reese Witherspoon balances her successful actress and film producer jobs and being a mother so well and she is actively involved in children and women's charities.

2009

Hello sweets! It has been a while, and I am sorry for that. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a happy happy new year! My Christmas was so beautiful this year, the day ended much too quickly and I wish I could do it all again, but there is another year I must wait first! 2009 is actually here and I can't believe it, how fast everything flies is crazy.
Does anyone have any new years resolutions?
I don't normally make them, I always think that I can change any time I want to and New Year does not need to be the time to do it. But this year I have thought I feel ready for some resolutions, I want to live my life totally to the full and a new year is the perfect time to start. I saw the film Yes man the other day and that has motivated me to say yes to more experiences (not as often as he did, I would not result to doing things with pensioners!!) but to live life more.
**

Have you ever had a moment when you’re with the one person in the world you want to be with and the wind is blowing through your hair and the song that just describes your entire soul happens to come on and then the person you happen to want to be with happens to love the same song and suddenly you realize you’re listening to it together and no matter how crazy your life has gotten, there’s this one moment, this perfect moment where you could just say that no matter what happens nothing can take this moment away from me… and then something does.
- Roswell You know how when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales, that fantasy of what your life would be, white dress, prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill. You would lie in bed at night and close your eyes and you had complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close you could taste them, but eventually you grow up, one day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is its hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely cause almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true.
- Grey's Anatomy
Sometimes i wonder if anything's absolute anymore. Is There Still right and wrong? Good and bad? Truth and lies? Or is everything negotiable, left to interpretation, grey. Sometimes we're forced to bend the truth, transform it, cause we're faced with things that are not of our own making. And sometimes things simply catch up to us.
- One Tree Hill
Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.
- Sex and the City

I used to be afraid of so many things…That I’d never grow up. That I’d be trapped in the same place for all eternity. That my dreams would forever be shy of my reach. It’s true what they say. Time plays tricks on you. One day you’re dreaming, the next your dream has become your reality. And now that this scared little girl no longer follows me wherever I go, I miss her. I do. ‘Cause there are things I wanna tell her– to relax, to lighten up, that it is all going to be ok. I want her to know that meeting people who like you, who understand you, who actually accept you for who you are, will become an increasingly rare occurrence. Jen, Jack, Audrey, Andie, Pacey, and Dawson. These people who contributed to who I am, they are with me wherever I go, and as history gets rewritten in small ways with each passing day, my love for them only grows. Because the truth is… it was the best of times. Mistakes were made, hearts were broken, harsh lessons learned, but all of that has receded into fond memory now. How does it happen? Why are we so quick to forget the bad and romanticize the good? Maybe it’s because we need to believe that the time we spent together actually meant something, that we were there for each other in a time in our lives that defined us all, a time in our lives that we will never forget. I can’t swear this is exactly how it happened. But this is how it felt.

christmas is coming

Hello guys :)

First of all, I finally saw Twilight!! I went to see it on Friday and oh my gosh I loved it, although I do prefer the books but I always expected that the film would not beat them. I am hoping I will have time to go and watch it again before Christmas! What did you think of it?
Rob has cut his hair! I prefered him with long hair, but whatever.. haha :)

I am really quite shocked that it is Christmas on Thursday. Really, where has this year flown off to? I am all prepared with presents, though. All bought and wrapped in Christmassy paper with bright bows under our shining, glowing Christmas tree. I can't wait to see my mum and brother's faces when they open their gifts!

The book I mentioned in a previous post (make! by Cath Kidston) well, I bought it for myself and I have decided to start making my own gifts for people from now on. It is always something I have planned to do and done a couple of times but I am so unorganized it always ends up too late to make them. My first one will be for my Grandad's birthday in January and I am torn between making him either slippers, gloves and a scarf or a cushion.. hmm..

"You can never replace anyone because everyone is made up of such beautiful specific details."

These photos have been saved on a memory stick as I found them in college and I can't remember where they are from! So sorry for not crediting - if they are yours or you know where they are from please let me know so I can put links up!

confusion from him

I have received the award mentioned on the last post again from SEE YOUR VOICE which is amazing as her blog is so so wonderful! Thank you so much, you are too kind this made me smile lots! :) xx
I'm so confused right now, in a way where there is something on my mind that I can't stop going over and thinking about. Confusion like this can only ever be guy related and it is so, so frustrating to keep thinking he is giving signals, and then just thinking I am imagining it because I want it to be true. I will leave you with some quotes I like and Robert Pattinson photos that I have found because I am not really in a talking mood - and this will also stop me rambling on about the beautiful boy who has stolen my heart (and no I am not talking about Rob, even though he is gorgeous)

"I must learn to love the fool in me- the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries."

"Do something everyday, regardless. Nothing will happen unless you first initiate a process of cause and effect. This starts with an action. Reawaken the possibility of possibility. Reawaken it with play." "How are you? Fine, and you? It’s not that we don’t care, it’s that we’re terrified that someone will actually break down and tell us. Everyone I know is in some kind of pain. Everyone. How do you like them apples? And so, another reason to lie, because we’ve all agreed not to tell the truth to each other, not about that. Someone put their hand in my heart and they didn’t take it back out."

sometimes you just can't think of a title

Hello Beautifuls!

Firstly, I just wanted to inform you about a skirt and top I am currently selling on ebay. I don't normally sell things on ebay unless they are brand new and I don't want to waste, I normally give my clothes to local charities but these two were so beautiful I wanted someone to properly appreciate them! And if I am being totally honest, I do need some money for Christmas. I don't normally have much luck when selling things so if you know someone who may be interested in them please spread the word! Especially the skirt, it is so gorgeous.

Some photos of the skirt below. The first one I took (Not the best of photos, I must admit but I had to use my awful phone camera as I don't have a camera at the moment) and the second photo I came across when looking on chictopia, and she pulls it off so well so I thought I'd post that here, too (I hope she won't mind). See her page here

Check out the skirt and the top on my ebay HERE!

I started my Christmas shopping today and it went quite well! I don't have much left to buy, which is good seeing as I got most of it in one shop. I am making my mums presents myself and am very excited to see the finished result. I then got sidetracked and ended up buying a black high waisted skirt (I can't decide what sort of top will look best with a high waisted skirt, any ideas?) and a white jumper. How is your Christmas shopping going?

My Wish List
1. Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion
2. Make! by Cath Kidston
3 and 4. Sequin Sparkle Dress in black and gold (I can't decide which colour I want, yout thoughts?)

december december

I can not belive it is December. (Already!?!) It amazes me how this year has flown by, how when you look back and realise time just disappears is such a scary thought, but I am too happy to dwell on that. I am happy about it being December, though. I love Christmas time. I do like recieving presents but that is not my reason for loving the holiday, I love it because I spend the day with family I do not see very often and it is such an enjoyable, fun day spent catching up, eating Christmas food and playing all sorts of games. Speaking of it is getting me even more excited, and also the snow today put me in a very festive mood, until the snow went through my boots and left my feet damp and cold all day..

I found this questionnaire in the book Influence by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and thought I would fill it in on here.
Your most marked characteristic? Being a good listener
The quality you like most in a man? Sense of humour, easy and interesting to talk to, tall
The quality you like most in a woman? Trustworthy, loyalty
What do you most value in your friends? Honesty
What is your principle defect? Forgiving too easily
What is your favourite occupation? I would love to be a teacher
What is your dream of happiness? Just being with people that I love
What to your mind would be the greatest of misfortunes? Losing someone you love
What would you like to be? To be able to always look on the bright side, no matter what the circumstance and to not care what other people think about me
In what country would you like to live? America, preferebly NY
What is your favourite colour? Green and orange
What is your favourite flower? Lily
What is your favourite bird? Robin
Who are your favourite writers? At the moment Stephenie Meyer, but I love so many authors
Who are your favourite poets? Walt Whitman
Who is your favourite hero of fiction? Edward Cullen
Who is your favourite heroine of fiction?
Who are your favourite painters? Andy Warhol
Who are your heroes in real life? My family and friends
What is it you most dislike? Constantly moody people
What natural gift would you most like to possess? To be able to sing
How would you like to die? In my sleep
What is your present state of mind? Thoughtful
To what faults do you feel most indulgent? Not standing up for myself enough
What is your motto? It is a Marilyn Monroe quotes, but I agree with it totally:
"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you apprieciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."

And this photo is just because I am re-reading Twilight and am so excited for the films!
Hope all is amazingly amazing for you all! xo
